Calibration Laboratory Supervisor
Josh is a mechanically inclined native of East Tennessee. He joined VTI in August of 2013 after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Reliability and Maintainability from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. While in college, he completed a summer internship at Oak Ridge National Lab where he worked with various vacuum related instruments in material science. He brought his skills and drive to Vacuum Technology originally as an Application Engineer and now as the Calibration Laboratory Supervisor.
In this role, Josh oversees specialized technicians who build and test the quality calibrated leaks that have formed the cornerstone of VTI’s extensive portfolio of well-known vacuum products and equipment. He uses his knowledge to help ensure the quality of the standards produced in addition to seeking new and innovative methods to improve lab productivity. In addition to his role of Calibration Laboratory Supervisor, he also designs an array of custom leaks and assists customers with any concerns or questions about their equipment. Josh also collaborates with the other engineers at VTI to develop leak test systems and is also heavily involved in marketing activities. When not at work, Josh enjoys spending time with his family, local church, and almost any outdoor activity including hiking, running, and competing in triathlons.
