Job Description - CNC Machining Specialist / Dual Spindle Turning Centers

Position Purpose:

This position is looking for extensive experience with the Star and Nakamura machines which utilize twin spindles, live tooling and Fanuc controllers. The CNC machinist sets-up, programs, plans and lays out complex machining operations; fabricating various types and sizes of product parts, tooling, and assemblies utilizing the Star SR-32J CNC (Swiss Type), and Nakamura TW20 CNCL.


Principal Duties:

  • Sets-up, programs and operates the Star SR-32J (Swiss Type) CNC Lathe with Fanuc Controller and the Nakamura TW20 CNCL Lathe with Fanuc Controller
  • Maintains “In-Process Inspection” during production by using multiple precision gauges (Micrometers, Calipers, Electronic Depth Gauges, etc.)
  • Keeps inventory of various bar stock material and cutting tools needed for each job order
  • Keeps inventory of miscellaneous cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, machine maintenance items and cleaning chemicals
  • Utilizes the ultrasonic bath to clean parts
  • Maintains machines regularly
  • Operates in a safe, clean, and organized work area and ensures that safe work practices are followed
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere and cooperates and collaborates with coworkers, management and customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship or vocational training
  • Four to six years of machining experience utilizing the Star SR-32J CNC and Nakamura TW20 CNCL
  • Possesses basic math and computer skills
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques
  • Understands blueprints, geometric tolerances and job orders
  • Has strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to focus on all areas of a project or task with detail and accuracy
  • Capability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance – works well independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary - can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Available for overtime including Saturdays as required

Pay Rates and Benefits:

Competitive Salary depending upon experience.

  • Compensation is offered commensurate with extensive experience utilizing one or both machines starting at $25-$35/hour
